B. “Positive Thinking Through the Art of Creating Murals”
(Approx. 1_ hours)
This lecture is designed to teach not just about designing a mural but also how art can teach us about life, such as respect for oneself and others and help build confidence. This is a hands on lecture, where audience will participate in creating a design for a mural.

First I will begin by talking about what I call “The Elements of Art”, imagination, the creative process, self-expression, problem solving, and story telling. Then the participants will be broken up into groups of five and each person in their groups will be given a word that expresses emotions, thoughts, or life. Each person will then create a drawing depicting what the word means to him/her. When all the drawings are completed, the participants will work in their groups and use the drawings they came up with, to create a mural design which tell a story. When all the mural designs are completed, one person from each group will share with the audience, their mural design and the story which goes with it.

Ability to draw is not important! It’s more about the story telling.
